Dr. Chang is a compassionate and patient-focused dentist who is dedicated to providing gentle, thoughtful care for every patient. He takes the time to truly listen to each individual’s needs and concerns, carefully explaining treatment options to ensure patients feel confident and informed about their care. Having once been afraid of dental visits himself, Dr. Chang deeply understands dental anxiety and has helped many patients with dentophobia become comfortable and relaxed during treatment.
Originally from Taiwan, Dr. Chang came to the United States during high school. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and went on to complete a master’s degree at Pennsylvania State University before receiving his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from SUNY – Buffalo. He then completed a dental residency at the VA Hospital in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, where he gained valuable experience in comprehensive patient care.
Dr. Chang moved to Virginia in 2014 and proudly took over the current iCare Family Dentistry practice in 2017. He continuously pursues advanced continuing education to stay up to date with the latest dental techniques and technology, ensuring his patients receive the highest standard of care.
Outside the office, Dr. Chang enjoys spending quality time with his wife and two daughters. An avid lover of the outdoors, he often goes camping with his family and enjoys hiking and nature adventures with his kids. He is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and Taiwanese and loves connecting with patients from all backgrounds in a warm and welcoming environment.
